What Will AI Look Like?
What do you think artificial intelligence will look like? The co-founder of SwiftKey was saying the AI will be autocorrect and predictive software development. Thinking like that is just looking at one part of AI. What if it can be expanded to "auto-suggest" your whole life? The software will gain knowledge about you (this is already done in full force by the way) and then make suggestions such as when you should get going so that you are not late to your next meeting or even if you should take a nap. Most of the AI that you hear about is akin to robots taking over the world, but what if the technology can augment and amplify our own intelligence? We already use technology for things like eyeglasses to see better and cars to move around faster and more efficiently. This technology augments our physical states. So why not add to our mental states as well? Is it really that different?

Software development has come a long way and it is moving faster than our development of ethics on what to do with it.
ReplyDeleteI think that the software development is moving in the right direction. It is enhancing and augmenting our human experience.
ReplyDeleteWhat about software development in terms of virtual reality? I wonder if that would be a safer realm to experiment.
ReplyDeleteI think that virtual reality is ready to take center stage as the most innovative technology we have. Augmented reality is also going to be huge.
